Buffalo Chicken Wrap from Half Baked Harvest

Additionally, we’re included one of our favorite wrap recipes that hit all of the right notes in terms of flavor while still being simple and largely healthy. Wraps filled with shredded chicken, buffalo sauce, herbs, lettuce, and a little amount of cheddar cheese are pan-fried till warm and crispy, and they are delicious. Simple to make, these wraps (originally shared on The Half Baked Harvest blog) are crispy on the exterior, spicy and cheesy on the inside, and take only minutes to put together.

Serving suggestions: top with the most delightfully creamy jalapeo lime ranch and more buffalo sauce if desired. Excellent for both lunch and supper, but also great for a game night with friends!

Making these folded wraps is easy. Here is how to do it…

First and foremost, the buffalo chicken should be prepared. Remove the skin off a couple of chicken breasts and combine with homemade buffalo sauce, yogurt (for smoothness), and fresh herbs in a large mixing bowl. Although the majority of buffalo chicken dips and fillings are prepared with cream cheese, my goal with these wraps was to make them as healthy as possible, so I used yogurt instead. It was a complete success. Once the filling is assembled, whip up a fast batch of homemade ranch dressing.but this isn’t your typical ranch dressing.

I used fresh cilantro and plenty of lime in place of the usual herb mix and stirred in some pickled jalapeños for a spicy, tangy kick. This is the perfect sauce to swirl into each wrap.
  • 1 cup cooked shredded chicken
  • 1/4 cup plain greek yogurt
  • 1/3 cup buffalo sauce (see recipe notes for homemade buffalo sauce)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • 4 large (burrito-size) whole wheat or gluten-free tortillas
  • 1-2 jalapenos or poblanos peppers, chopped
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded pepper jack cheese
  • Olive oil, for cooking
  • 1 tablespoon
JALAPEÑO RANCH
  • 1. 1 quart plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, finely minced
  • One teaspoon garlic powder
  • One teaspoon onion powder
  • One quarter cup pickled jalapenos diced + two tablespoons brine, one lime juice, and one teaspoon kosher salt
Now assemble.

I took a ton of images so you could see exactly how this is done, but folks, it’s really not that difficult. Cutting through the middle of your tortillas will allow you to put the chicken to one corner, followed by the greens in another corner and lastly the cheese to another. Fold everything together and pan-fry it. So now you’ve got.

  • One-fourth of buffalo chicken
  • Another quarter of greens n’ stuff wrapped in bacon
  • A quarter of a cup of ranch dressing
  • And, finally, a quarter of a cup of cheese All of it should be folded into a triangle.
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Half a quarter of buffalo chicken
  2. Half a quarter of greens n’ stuff wrap Finally, a quarter of the way full with ranch dressing
  3. And a quarter of the way full of cheese
  4. And To make a triangle, fold everything together.
RECIPE NOTES

To make Buffalo Sauce, combine half of the hot sauce, half of the olive oil or butter, half of the paprika (including half of the smoked paprika), and half of each of the onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. The Siete FoodsGrain Free Burrito Size Tortillas and their smallerGrain Free Tortillas are my favorite tortillas to utilize in my recipes. These may be purchased at Whole Foods Market or ordered online. Whole Foods brand whole wheat tortillas are another favorite of mine. Cooking the wraps causes a small amount of the cheese on the outer layer to melt, resulting in the most magical of results.

How to Make This Turkey Wrap Recipe with a Spinach Tortilla

What I really like about this turkey wrap dish is that it is very simple to prepare!

  1. Begin with a large spinach tortilla, such as the sort used for burritos, to ensure that there is enough of space to pack and wrap the ingredients. Place mayonnaise, mustard, turkey, avocado, bacon, tomato, and lettuce on a plate and top with cheese. Once everything is finished, lunch will be served.

Make sure to shred your lettuce! Because the lettuce is all of the same size, it is much easier to arrange the lettuce in an equal row. You have to give it a go.

Ingredient Notes

A spinach wrap is my preferred tortilla, but any burrito-sized tortilla will suffice as well. The term “sundried tomato” has even crossed my mind, which sounds delectable. Turkey is my go-to lunch meat since it is so versatile. I really enjoy how light the flavor is, and how the bacon truly comes through. However, you are free to use any lunch meat you have on hand that you enjoy. Filling: You may simply customize the fillings by using any ingredients you have on hand! Include cheese and other vegetables (sliced bell pepper, cucumber, shredded carrots, and so on), as well as a variety of lettuces (romaine, spinach, sprouts, microgreens).

Pro Tips

Preparation: This wrap is ideal for making ahead of time since the tortilla does not go mushy as bread does. When prepping meals, create three wraps at a time, consume one, and then cover and refrigerate the remaining two. It is preferable to wrap them with saran wrap since it ensures that they are thoroughly covered. Keep them in sealed containers to ensure that everything stays as fresh as possible! Using a paper towel to pat dry tomatoes after slicing them can help to eliminate extra moisture from the tomatoes.

FAQs

What is the best way to keep leftovers? Refrigerate for up to 3 days after wrapping with saran wrap. If I’m cooking my avocado ahead of time, I like to put lemon juice on it to keep it from browning too much. Is it possible to freeze this turkeybaconwrap? I do not recommend freezing them since they do not freeze well.

Are these California turkey wraps low-carb or high-carb? Unfortunately, this is not the case. While they are a tasty and nutritious lunch choice, if you are following a Keto or Low carb diet, take these easy steps to make this delectable turkey baconwrap keto-friendly!

  1. Instead of using a tortilla, place your fillings between two leaves of butter lettuce. Instead of the traditional Mission spinach wrap, get a package of low-carb tortillas and use those instead. Keep a watch out for “Carb Smart” tortillas, which are a terrific substitute for regular tortillas in these wraps. Keep in mind that they are a little smaller than standard burrito-sized tortillas, but they will still work
  2. They just may not wrap as nicely as they might.
