We Are Alo
Some of us were born to run, while others like a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) program. What does this mean for me? Yoga has been the type of exercise that has had the most profound impact on my life. You may scoff all you want, but I’m confident that I’m not alone in believing that yoga can be transforming. Not only does it tone your body, but it also has the added benefit of calming your mind, which is possibly the most essential outcome of any exercise. Praying yoga only a few of times a week can make a significant effect in your mood and mental health; yogis aren’t known for being very calm for nothing.
When I first started practicing yoga, I went on a search for the right pair of yoga pants.
However, finding a pair of yoga pants that don’t droop around your bottom, bunch at your ankles, and drop at your waist may be just as difficult as finding the right pair of high-waisted jeans that fit perfectly can be difficult.
As a result, we’ve made your work a bit simpler by curating a collection of the absolute finest yoga pants and yoga leggings available.
The best at-home gym equipment – from weights to spinning bikes – so you can work out from your living room
Even while both the finest yoga pants and the best gym leggings should have high waists and moisture-wicking characteristics, there are some significant variations between the two types of clothing. In comparison to running trousers, yoga leggings are thinner and softer, whilst the latter are considerably tighter and compressive, which helps to support your muscles. You should invest your money on a pair of leggings that have been particularly created with yoga in mind, as they will be more breathable, moisture-wicking, and able to flex and flow with you while you practice.
A high and wide waistband that rests flat on your torso, does not cut in, and, if feasible, includes a drawstring to provide additional support are essential in order to feel supported and comfortable while wearing your pants.

It’s also important to note that yoga leggings, like other gear, will stretch with use, so don’t buy a size larger in the hopes of a small amount of loosening later on down the track.

srcset=” width=320 auto=webp crop=982 (Image courtesy of iStock/The Independent) In our opinion, the finest yoga leggings are high waisted, soft, and stay there without squeezing, pinching, or indenting your tummy, whether you’re practicing your sun salutations or simply cocooning on the couch with a good book.
Yoga leggings should be breathable, stretchy, and comfortable enough to feel like a second skin — devoid of distractions during practice.
Running and gym clothing is meant to be weather-resistant and more compressive – frequently constructed from special sweat-wicking and quick-drying materials – which will only serve to impede your flow.
What’s more, you should feel secure when you step onto your yoga mat – whether you’re practicing in a boujee studio or at home – knowing that your yoga gear will support you from your first downward dog to your final downward dog.

Sweaty Betty super soft 7/8 yoga leggings
Best:Overall Rating:10/10 Sweaty Betty’s attractive leggings are very soft (the answer is in the name, after all). They are brand new for 2022. They are far thicker than both the brand’s power exercise leggings and zero gravity running leggings, and they are quite high-waisted, allowing you to feel instantly supported and sucked in. It also means you won’t have to pause in the middle of a crow pose to pull your leggings up, and the smooth, flexible fabric truly allows for complete freedom of movement, supporting you during every transition.
Lululemon align high-rise pant 28”
Yoga pants that feel like “second skin” are the best. Rating:10/10 Only a few super-soft yoga leggings will make you want to live in them 24/7 when it comes to yoga gear – and this list undoubtedly includes Lululemon’s world-famous align pant. With its buttery-soft nulu fabric, you’ll forget you’re even wearing leggings since they’re so lightweight – giving you a truly “naked” experience while also maintaining your dignity and respectability. Choosing a darker color for your align pant is recommended if you’re planning on participating in a hot yoga or power yoga session, as the align pant, while sweat-wicking, is not suited for really rigorous exercises.
Lululemon instill high-rise tight 25”
Yoga leggings with built-in support are the best. Rating:9/10 The infuse tight, which was introduced at the end of last summer, is Lululemon’s newest yoga legging – and it provides a more hugged, held-in, and supported sensation to the famous aligns. These leggings are made with smoothcover fabric (which took two years to produce), which is deliciously soft, supportive, and smooth to touch. However, they did feel a touch tight at first because of the extra stitching and seams around the stomach.
Alo 7/8 high-waist airlift legging
If you’re tall, this is the best option. Rating:9/10 Alo Yoga Sportswear, which originates in Los Angeles, is slowly but steadily gaining favor on this side of the Atlantic – and we’ve been noticing more and more individuals sporting their leggings. Several of their styles are a touch on the lengthy side, which is ideal for individuals who are gifted with long arms and legs. Those shiny, lightweight airlift leggings from Alo have to be our favorites – they have a little bit of a disco pant appearance to them, so they’re great for doubling up and wearing to brunch, too.
Lorna Jane hi-fold lotus no-chafe ankle-biter leggings
Yoga leggings for yin yoga are the best. Rating:7/10 The focus of these leggings from Australian brand Lorna Jane is on providing an exceptional degree of comfort. These underwear are made from the brand’s unique “nothing 2 see here” fabric, which is lightweight and silky while yet providing maximum coverage – so you won’t have to worry about unintentionally flashing your knickers to the yogi on the mat next to you while doing a forward fold.
With a length that falls just above the ankle, these leggings also feature chafe-free flatlock seams, a four-way stretch, and most significantly, a soft fabric that retains its softness even after numerous washings and wearings.
Peloton cadent colorblock legging
Yoga pants for vinyasa yoga are the best. Rating:8/10 Anyone with a Peloton cycle is likely already aware that the company just released its own private label clothes line, Peloton Apparel, which includes attractive, sweat-wicking garments that can be worn on and off the bike. But, thank goodness, you don’t have to own a £1,350 stationary bike in order to use the gear. We prefer the cadent leggings for yoga since they’re constructed of a polyester-spandex blend and are significantly thicker than some of the other alternatives on our list, which means you’ll feel slightly more squeezed when doing yoga.
Bam balance bamboo leggings
Yoga leggings made from sustainable materials are the best. Rating:7/10 Who would want to dress in plastic? Natural sportswear company Bam has presented this question to its customers. Its whole line is constructed of breathable bamboo fabric, which is not only luxuriously soft, but also environmentally friendly. These seamless deep emerald green leggings, which were part of the brand’s AW21 collection, were a standout for us. The fuss-free, flexible, and thick material (which is ideal for the colder months) gives more coverage without digging in – and they look especially good when paired with the matching seamless bralette.
Girlfriend Collective compressive high-rise stretch-recycled polyester leggings
Yoga leggings made from recycled materials are the best. Rating:7/10 Who would want to dress in plastic, after all. Natural activewear company Bam has presented this topic to the public. Each and every piece in its collection is composed of breathable bamboo fabric, which is not only luxuriously soft, but also environmentally friendly. A standout piece for us was this pair of seamless deep emerald green leggings from the brand’s AW21 collection. Easy to care for and thick (ideal for the cooler months), the comfy high-rise waistband gives additional coverage without digging in – and they look especially good when paired with the matching seamless bralette.
Natal Active luxe maternity and postnatal crop leggings
Yoga pants for pregnant women are the best. Rating:8/10 Designed to be comfortable, fashionable, and supportive, the waistband on these pregnant leggings from Natal Active can be worn either under or over and above the bump, allowing you to wear them from month one of pregnancy through delivery and after. This product is ideal for active mothers-to-be who wish to maintain a healthy workout routine during pregnancy. If you are normally between sizes and are expecting a child, we recommend that you size up.
Pocket Sport plein air legging
Yoga pants created by celebrities are the best. Rating:7/10 After spending her time between the television show and other activities, Louise Thompson, who lives in Chelsea and is currently writing a book and operating a fitness website, came up with the idea for Pocket Sport after noticing a gap in the health and wellness market. Pocket Sport leggings are distinguished from other leggings on the market by the fact that they each feature a waistband grip on the inside of the waistband, which ensures that they do not budge.
Our current favorite are these plein air leggings in fig, which we recommend pairing with the matching bra (£45, Pocket-sport.com) before rolling out the yoga mat in the morning.
Myprotein composure leggings
Yoga pants that are reasonably priced are the best. Rating:6/10 As it turns out Myprotein is responsible for much more than simply the production of protein. Composure is the third iteration of the brand’s yoga and Pilates-specific gear, which was introduced last year. They’re made from a supportive, soft-touch recycled fabric and finished with a high-rise waistband that’s deeper in the front than in the back, which promises to keep you comfy during your zen yoga practice.
Hush atalanta printed leggings
Yoga leggings with a pattern are the best. Rating:7/10 Say hello to your new favorite pair of brightly colored yoga pants. Learn how yoga master your poses with Hush’s atalanta printed leggings in blue tiger design. These leggings are made from ethically based materials and are incredibly enjoyable to wear. These leggings, which have a second-skin streamlined fit, a wide waist, and an ankle-length, fit true to size when we tried them on and are engineered to flex, bend, and twist.
Varley let’s move high-rise stretch recycled-polyester leggings
Yoga pants with an animal design are the best. Rating:8/10 The only thing better than a good pair of yoga leggings is an animal print pair of yoga leggings – and nothing will get you more in the mood to move than Varley’s let’s move leggings in a leopard design. They are made of moisture-wicking, recycled polyester fabric, which allows them to stay cool and comfortable while practicing power yoga. They offer four-way stretch and a little compression fit for increased support during power yoga flows.
Studio Éhr high waist legging
Yoga pants that are owned by women are the best. Rating:8/10 Boutique firm Studio Éhr (pronounced air) is situated in London and is owned by two women. Its leggings, however, do not come at a low price point. Due to the fact that they are produced from Italian econyl – which the company defines as “rescued, regenerated, and rebuilt nylon waste transformed into a techno fabric” – and are built to endure, they are extremely durable. They offer a wide, high-rise waistband that supports your core, as well as attractive seams that help to trim and sculpt your form.
Nimble Activewear high waisted long legging II
Yoga leggings for hot yoga are the best. Rating:7/10 Functional, aesthetically pleasing, and feminine – It is well known at Bondi Beach because Nimble Activewear uses textiles derived from discarded and recycled plastics in its products. Actually, six recycled plastic bottles are used in the production of Nimble’s high rise long legging II. The green “shadow moss” high-shine color of these leggings is stunning; they have a somewhat iridescent finish that catches the light and moves with your movements.

Review of the Lineagewear Watercolor Leggings
- When it comes to size, Lineagewear is a body-positive company. Historically, clothing was custom-tailored to each individual’s physique, and they’re working hard to restore that true-to-size element back into the fashion industry. Because every person’s physique is different, it makes sense to design clothes that is suitable for everyone. YogiApproved| 15th of May, 2016

- They are flattering on the booty, and I really prefer them over my Lululemon Aligns in terms of comfort.
- “The fit is wonderful for my petite, difficult-to-shop-for figure!” they exclaim in their review.
- In order to use these pants for jogging on an indoor track, I needed a material that was both cool and lightweight.
- Despite the fact that they have been in their possession for 2.5 years, one owner claims that they still seem brand new.
- This product is of exceptional quality.
- This is simply incredible.” According to the vast majority of favorable reviewers on this site, Baleaf High Waist yoga pants do not push, squeeze, pinch, or leave indents on your stomach, and they stay in place once you put them on.
- According to another delighted customer who wears them to work and for yoga classes, “I appreciate that they don’t slide down, that they flatten out my waist without leaving indents in my tummy, and that they don’t put too much strain on my hips like other high-waisted pairs do,” she said.
- In order to cover what I want covered without pinching the crap out of my stomach, the waistband is raised to a comfortable level.
- They manage to keep everything in while yet remaining breathable and really comfy!
One describes them as having “huge, deep pockets.” Because “pockets are not just for guys,” she argues, women should “DEMAND more and better pockets.” Another consumer expresses her delight in these leggings, saying they “are everything.” She enjoys the pockets since they are large enough to hold her utility knife and keys, but she also appreciates the high waist, something she shares with over 200 other five-star reviewers.
Because she has a high waist, she can bend, squat and kneel without feeling restricted or like the material is pulling in certain places while not in others.
Many people are particularly taken with the mesh panel on the calves; one person says it “is really flattering” and “slimming,” while another says “the mesh panels offers greater cooling effect.” However, the mesh is not the only attraction: “The bottom of the legs are cut at a little angle (which isn’t visible in the photograph), but it contributes to the design, along with some diagonal seaming, which is the inverse of the mesh insert,” as one reviewer points out.
There’s also mesh trim on the pocket, which is a wonderful finishing touch.” Another selling feature is the way the garment fits.
According to one user, “They keep my jiggles under control through yoga, barre, and boxing sessions (I told you.
Finally, the material is solid, so there are no uncomfortable’see-through’ patches on the bum.” These IUGA yoga pants are comparable to the other IUGA yoga pants on our list, with the exception that they are fleece-lined, which reviewers found to be particularly useful during the colder months.
- In addition, another reviewer comments on how well they “fit wonderfully and the waist stays in place.” “They keep me warm on winter walks and when walking my dog,” they continue.
- “These check off every box,” they wrote in their review.
- Even though they have a little compression, they are still comfortable enough to wear about the home.
- I raced a 10K on the same day I got them and another 5K today, and I’m in love with them so much that I had to write a review on them.” The boot cut on these Spalding yoga pants is very popular with fans.
According to one happy reviewer, these trousers “hug curves without clinging to them in all the wrong places.” Furthermore, more than a hundred reviewers have described these trousers as “flattering.” “This style is much more forgiving, and it even highlights your glutes,” says one reviewer who owns six pairs.
- “These yoga pants literally saved my life!” they wrote.
- Because they were comfortable and flattering, they took the uncertainty out of deciding what to wear every day, and because I could mix and match them with a different color top every time, I had a new look every time.” “Perfect pair of pants.
- Their description is as follows: “The pattern is really flattering to the waist and lower tummy.
- The fact that there was no sliding or movement made it really comfortable, and I frequently forgot I was wearing it.” And a third reviewer (who refers to these trousers as “magic pants”) raves about how they “fit PERFECTLY” and how they feature “extensive pockets,” once again.
Several customers have praised the capris as “a nice flared-out capri with no frills or strange stuff to get in the way.” Another customer notes that the fabric is “a lighter mid-weight fabric with a cottony feel and a little elasticity.” These are excellent for yoga because the buttocks are not see-through.” Some customers describe them as “genuine mid-calf capri length, spacious at the bottom while remaining thin in the thigh and waist.” Another says, “These are a real mid-calf capri length, are roomy at the bottom but yet flatteringly small in the thigh and waist.” Just though they are loose in certain places doesn’t imply they lack shape.
- “Though they fit a bit more snug than other trousers of the same size, they are stretchy and not constraining,” writes another, who adds that “they don’t become shapeless and droopy after being worn for several hours,” she says.
- According to one of our customers, “Finally, I’ve discovered a workout capri that’s great.” The pockets are the most appealing aspect to her.
- When they are empty, they do not appear to be pockets, giving the garment a really smooth appearance,” she explains.
- It’s hard to think that she ever wore yoga pants with no pockets to the office.
- She found them to be far more handy than she had anticipated, and she ended up purchasing many more in different colors.
- “They are soft, fit well, are a great price, and are obviously well made,” says another who likes that they keep her asthma inhaler secure during class.
- The fact that these Champion capris have an elastic waist and an adjustable drawstring “makes it easy to adjust” and “helps keep them in place” while working out is a significant accomplishment.
“I purchased them with the hopes of being able to wear them for part of my pregnancy, and they ended up working great throughout my whole pregnancy,” says one reviewer.
For one thing, as a tall plus-size woman, it’s difficult to locate exercise trousers at all, says one reviewer.
Others have commented that, in contrast to other yoga pants, these appear to hold up well after a lot of wear and washing.
Reviewers remarked on how beautifully these leggings held their shape while yet looked fashionable time and time again.
“They’re also quite attractive!” The following is from another reviewer who uses them to lift weights: “My legs and buttocks are really enormous — I’m also only five feet one inches tall.
Because I have enormous thighs, finding something that fits my thighs is difficult enough as it is.
“They are quite comfortable.” These yoga pants have received five-star reviews from over 4,000 customers, and the elastic waistband has been described as “soft,” “comfortable,” and even “a lifesaver” by one customer who suffers from fibromyalgia skin sensitivity.
One reviewer, who complained that most yoga pants had a restricting waistline, discovered these and was happy to discover that they were “the most comfortable bottoms I’ve felt while pregnant.” The fabric is “impressively soft,” writes another reviewer, who left their remarks while they were “seven months pregnant and pretty much uncomfortable in everything at this point.” They also note that “simply the general comfort is far better than the $200 sweatpants you’ll find out there.” According to one reviewer, the drawstring waist of these yoga pants “allows them to be worn by people of all shapes and sizes,” and others concur with him.
Several curvy reviewers rave about the pants, including one who writes, “This is the first pair of gym pants I’ve found in years that are good for my thick thighs and relatively small, high waist.” Another writes, “Being a somewhat vertically challenged person (5′ 1-1/2″) and not heavy (103 pounds), I find these pants to be nearly perfect.” The drawstring waist “allows me to have a snug fit with no trousers sagging whether I’m extending or bending,” according to one reviewer who is on the autism spectrum.
The fit is only one of the reasons why more than 200 reviewers have described these trousers as comfortable; the material is also a contributing factor.
The material isn’t too thin, but it isn’t too heavyweight, which is perfect for outdoor fall exercises up north and winter workouts at the gym, as one user notes.
The fact that they’re not excessively baggy is appreciated by some.
In the words of another, “I would venture to say that they even appear slimming, which is not often what you find in a sweat pant.” These also have something else that you don’t normally see in sweatpants: pockets.
“These are a fantastic alternative to leggings,” writes one buyer who expresses her dissatisfaction with “boot-cut yoga pants” and “wanted something that was looser than leggings and thicker than leggings,” among other things.
“I’ll be honest with you: I daydream about going home and putting these on!” Customer comments, “I’m looking forward to it more than anything,” and then comes back to update her review months later, mentioning that she ended up purchasing two more pairs after all.
Another believes they are simply too multifunctional not to get them.
Furthermore, they are fashionable, according to her.
