So, before you completely relinquish control, delegate the work to the individual to whom you are assigning the task.

3. Learn Something New

I have a really special Fender folk guitar that has traveled with me from one place to another with me. Of course, it had been around 35 years since I had last played it. Then one day I noticed that a local art center was providing courses in drawing and painting. I decided to enlist on the spur of the moment. It was a wonderful experience to reconnect with that half of myself. Learning to play a musical instrument is a fantastic option for those looking for a new adventure, but there are many others as well.

Consider visiting a new location for a weekend trip or vacation.

Physical activity can have a positive impact on your mental health. Unplugging from the internet, from news, from noise, and from technological devices is another way to enhance your mental health.

It’s possible that you’ll enjoy it so much that you’ll make it a point to do it every day.

6. Face Fear

The night before speaking class was usually a toss and turn affair for me. It was something I feared. The teacher had a favorite activity that I really despised. She would jot down ideas on small bits of paper and toss the scraps into a hat to remember them later. She would walk down the aisles and pull up next to a pupil, who would select a piece of paper from her hands. The victim, I mean student, would then walk to the front of the class, have a look at the topic, and then deliver a three-minute speech on the subject.

  • Still, when I have to speak in front of a large audience, I get a little scared, but confronting my fear of public speaking in that tiny (30 students) class lay the framework for the rest of my life.

Step outside your comfort zone

This is a wonderful quote. It hits a personal chord with me and rings true time and time again for me. It motivates me to keep pushing myself to be better, to strive harder, and to achieve greater things in my life. When I focus on the things I can control (myself) rather than the things I cannot control (external influences in life), I am more likely to learn and grow. This drives me to move outside of my comfort zone and push through my anxieties so that I may learn and grow. The four zones of success are as follows: The first two zones are appropriately titled the comfort zone and the terror zone, respectively.
