Because I reside in Boulder, Colorado, which has a high-desert environment, moisturizing is essential. In addition to a few more age spots, I’m now beginning to experience persistent hormonal acne around my jawline and enlarged pores in my T-zone as I approach my forties. Don’t get me wrong: I’m fine with the fact that I’m getting older.

Nonetheless, I can’t help but wonder.

To discover out, I experimented with various new products that had cutting-edge components sourced directly from Mother Nature.

Additionally, CBD Skincare: Is It Worth the Hype?

Ingredient: Spirulina

Spirulina, a form of blue-green algae that is popular in supplements and smoothies, is making an appearance in a growing number of skincare products due to its purported anti-inflammatory and acne-fighting abilities. Those claims have not been proven in scientific research, but spirulina is packed with skin-friendly nutrients such as beta-carotene, vitamin A, vital amino acids, and Omega-3 fatty acids. Using only natural ingredients, the Superfood Oil-to-Milk cleanser is a rich and very moisturizing cleanser that also exfoliates your skin thanks to the inclusion of green clay, which turns into a milky texture when mixed with water.

Ingredient: Manuka Honey

Honey has antibacterial characteristics by nature, and Manuka Honey from New Zealand is particularly well-known for its highly moisturizing benefits. With this thick balm, you can easily remove makeup while leaving your skin feeling smooth and clean. Shophere has a $23 price tag.

Ingredient: Blue Tansy

When the leaves and stems of the Mediterranean plant are distilled, they turn a beautiful blue hue. Blue Tansy oil is extracted from the leaves and stem of the plant. According to its supporters, it has anti-inflammatory characteristics and so makes it an excellent oil for acne-prone skin. This wonderful, all-natural oil from Herbivore soaks into your skin, keeping it nourished throughout the whole day. My daily routine included using it in conjunction with a Lapis face roller to decrease puffiness in the morning and relax before sleep.

Ingredient: Squalane

Squalane is found in naturally occurring quantities in the lipidic layers of the skin and acts as a protective barrier against moisture loss; however, as you age, the amount of squalane produced diminishes. Although it is not a comodegen, this plant-derived oil from clean beauty business Intelligent Elixirs may be used in conjunction with your preferred moisturizer to provide an extra burst of moisture. $16, Purchase here

Ingredient: Brazilian White Tourmaline Gemstone

It’s hard to imagine anything more opulent than sprinkling gemstone powder on your face. This luxurious mask from Herbivore will have you gleaming in minutes, and it is made from natural ingredients.

Natural alpha hydroxy acids from pineapple and papaya enzymes gently exfoliate the skin, while the Brazilian White Tourmaline Gemstone naturally brightens and shines your skin. $48, available for purchase here

5 Reasons Why Switching to Natural Skincare Is Worth It

5 Reasons Why Investing in Natural Skincare Is a Good Investment Please tell us if this describes you: You maintain a healthy way of living. You take extra precautions to avoid junk food, you make an effort to purchase organic products, and you strive to maintain an active lifestyle in order to keep in excellent health. You’re considering taking the initial steps toward adopting the same philosophy in your beauty regimen, but decent natural skincare brands are more difficult to come by when compared to drugstore items, and making the move would involve a larger financial commitment than using drugstore products.

What is our response?

While there are a plethora of reasons why we feel that shopping for clean beauty products is crucial, here is the most compelling argument for doing so: What you put on your skin is absorbed by it.

I’m not sure what gives you the impression that your skincare products are any different.

Switching to clean beauty products is an investment that will serve you in so many ways:

Aggressive compounds, which may be found in many popular skincare brands, can cause skin irritation, an imbalanced pH, and blotchy redness. Fortunately, purchasing clean cosmetic products is a simple way to prevent these dangers. Clean skincare products, such as Afterglow, provide you with a more youthful and radiant complexion. This plant-based skincare oil is 100 percent natural and will nourish your skin without any of the potentially harmful side effects.

Your health

If these harmful items are taken into your circulation, they can cause long-term health problems such as hormone disruption and even cancer if they contain substances such as parabens in their formulae. Isn’t this enough of a reason to prioritize purchasing pure skincare products?

Your peace of mind

Pores in your skin allow you to breathe, and they also act as an entryway into your system. In addition to having a high penetration rate, our skin also has a high absorption rate, and it is not known what percentage of the compounds that permeate our skin are able to be absorbed by our bodies. So what’s the point of taking any chances? Making the switch to non-toxic cosmetic products is the most secure option.

Your time

Everybody doesn’t want poisons to seep into their delicate skin, but who has the time to learn about every single chemical to stay away from? Fortunately, the year is 2019. We have a plethora of possibilities at our disposal. Instead than sifting through countless lists of problematic substances, the most straightforward alternative is to purchase from natural brands you can rely upon. Simply seek for labels that state that the product is devoid of harmful chemicals (for example, “paraben free,” “silicone free,” and “SLS free”).

Your planet

Vegan beauty that is devoid of animal byproducts is the environmentally friendly and ethical choice. Shopping clean can reduce the need for hazardous compounds found in drugstore skincare products, allowing you to do your part to help reduce pollution on the earth by reducing the demand for these substances. Informed and ethical buyers trust LionLoki to provide them with high-quality plant-based skincare products at a reasonable price.

Summer Lovin’: 11 Clean Beauty Products I’m Swooning Over Lately • Organically Becca

Summer love’ gave me a blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Normally, I try to give you guys a quarterly update on the new goods that I’ve been testing, and today we’re going to do exactly that! In terms of natural beauty products, there are a handful of new releases, as well as some older ones that I’m now getting around to exploring. Hopefully, it will spur you on to try something new, since there will undoubtedly be plenty of amazing new products available this summer!

This post includes affiliate links for your convenience. Some of these goods were sent to me for the purpose of PR consideration, and I was under no obligation to discuss them. Believe me when I say that I only share the good stuff with you!

1)AirDoctor HEPA Air Purifier

Okay, I realize this isn’t a beauty-related post. However, it has something to do with crunchy living. AirDoctor is a well-known brand of air purifiers, and I purchased one of their products back in April. It’s been a fantastic experience! Our bedroom has the Compactversion(AD 1000), which filters 235 square feet every 12 minutes, thus I purchased this for it. It’s an Ultra HEPA filter that collects 100 percent of airborne particles as small as 0.003 microns in size as well as the great majority of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), including smoke, bacteria, viruses, pollen, mold, and dust mites.

  1. It’s rather quiet, but as you crank up the fan, it becomes more audible.
  2. My mind is at ease knowing that the air in my bedroom is safe as I sleep for 8+ hours every night.
  3. Moreover, we have recently improved and included the Regular size unit in our collection, which will be kept in the kitchen.
  4. In my understanding, this brand is top of the line and the actual deal.
  5. It’s also been convenient throughout the warmer months because we frequently leave our windows open and who knows what could be flying in!
  6. Here is where you can get AirDoctor purifiers.

2)Clover Plush Pigment Eyeshadow Stick

Clover is a sibling brand to one of the clean cosmetic products that I use, Clove + Hallow, which recently launched! In addition to being more affordable, it seems like a good brand for teenagers or young adults to experiment with! They rely on synthetic substances that are less harmful than natural, pure ones. However, these are components that I would personally use and that I feel to be on the healthier side. My favorite of their products is the Showstopper eyeshadow stick, which has a sparkly champagne colour and is available in a variety of shades.

To apply this one, you just need two seconds, after which you may blur it with a few delicate finger touches.

My hooded, oily eyelids were genuinely amazed with how long the color lasted without creasing on my greasy lids.

The twist-up applicator is also entertaining.

3)Cryotherapy Ice Roller

This is essentially an enhanced version of your normal ice roller, complete with an ergonomic handle and an egg-shaped rolling barrel for added convenience. On a drowsy, puffy face in the morning, it feels just divine. I like to keep mine in the freezer so that it stays cool at all times, even when not in use. There are several benefits to ice rolling such as decreasing inflammation and puffiness while increasing lymphatic drainage while calming sensitive skin and elevating face features. In the middle of a steamy summer morning, this is a must-have for me.

Believe me when I say that purchasing one of them will be a wise decision. Here is where you may purchase an Ice Roller. Article related to this one: ” 6 Simple Facial Tools for Clear, Glowing Skin “

4)CV Skinlabs Rescue + Relief Spray

In essence, aloe vera has been elevated to an entirely new level! It’s a thin, somewhat milky spray that dries rapidly and may be applied directly to the skin for immediate cooling relief if needed. Itchy insect bites, sunburn, eczema, wounds, irritated skin, post-shave.you name it, this cream can help. In it, you’ll find moisturizing and skin-loving components like as aloe, cucumber, turmeric, mushroom extract, oat, and other natural ingredients. This is something I’ve been using primarily after a day in the sun and after shaving my legs.

And my husband used it quite a bit for a scab that was mending, and he reported that it was effective.

It has a refreshing and soothing effect!

5)Erin’s Faces Deet-Free MosquitoTick Repellant

Isn’t it true that the only negative aspect of summer is the bugs? This is a lifesaver, thank you very much! Despite the fact that it is fine, this mist does not dry sticky or greasy, which is fantastic. It contains essential oils that naturally repel ticks and mosquitoes, such as citronella, lemongrass, geranium, eucalyptus, and cedarwood, among others. The best feature is that it is free of Deet! There are no nasties. In fact, I’ve been spritzing some on my dog Dexter before we go on a stroll, and it appears to be effective in keeping the pests away.

Erin’s new Organic Fruit Smoothie Lip Glosses are also a favorite of mine!

Erin’s Faces Bug Spray is available for purchase here.

6)FitGlow Vegan Good Lash+ Mascara*New*

Honestly, I wasn’t a great fan of FitGlow’s original mascara when it first launched. The wand was far too large and clumsy for my liking, and it smeared quite a bit. As a result, I was quite excited to test their newest reformulated version! It comes with a new wand that is smaller in size yet has two sides (one is curved silicone for lift and the other is straight bristles for definition). Despite the fact that it is a wetter product, I still feel a *tiny bit* of smearing on my bottom lashes while using this one.

I absolutely appreciate how full my lashes appear when I use this mascara.

FitGlow Mascara is available for purchase here.

7)Kosas Cloud Set Baked SettingSmoothing Powder

In all honesty, the original FitGlow mascara wasn’t one of my favorites. My only complaint was that the brush was overly large and cumbersome, causing a lot of smudging. In order to test their freshly reformulated version, I was quite excited. With a new wand that is smaller yet has two sides, it is much more powerful than before (one is curved silicone for lift and the other is straight bristles for definition). Despite the fact that this is a wetter product, I still get a *tiny bit* of smearing on my bottom lashes while using it.

Because of this, my lashes appear significantly more full. In addition, it contains nutrients such as horsetail plant extract, which helps to nourish and thicken lash hairs over time. FitGlow Mascara is available to purchase online here.

8)Moss Mornings Sleep Peels

Wow.all that’s I have to say about it. Essentially, they are biodegradable pads that you use after washing at night and leave on as an overnight treatment. After approximately a week of use, I can’t believe the GLOW that greets me in the morning! These creams include a combination of exfoliating acids (lactic, glycolic, and salicylic) that work to smooth and brighten the skin as you sleep. Sleep Peels with Moss in the Mornings Vitamin C Serum on Sundays as a rule Ice Roller for Cryotherapy To be quite honest, I had imagined these to be lot rougher, but they really appear to be pretty soft!

Furthermore, because they contain hyaluronic acids, they are quite moisturizing, and I find that I don’t need to apply any extra moisturizer at night while I’m using them.

Keep in mind that you should also apply to your neck and chest.

9)MyChelle Dermaceuticals Sun Shield Liquid SPF50

Okay, how often do you come across mineral sunscreen for your face with an SPF of 50 or higher?! I experimented with both the Untinted and Tinted(shadeLight) versions of this product. Untinted did not work for me since it was just too white and did not mix in well with the surroundings. However, the coloured variant is the most popular! Kosas Cloud Set Baked Setting Powder is a baking powder that sets clouds. Liquid SPF50 protection from MyChelle. There are no oils in this clay-based solution, which feels dry to the touch and leaves a matte finish.

Despite the fact that it contains 20% zinc oxide for broad-spectrum sun protection, it does not feel heavy or oily on the skin.

When it comes to daily face sunscreen, this is a product that you should consider using.

Shop MyChelle SPF50 is available here.

10)Saie Sun Melt Cream-Balm Bronzer

Oooh, this bronzer is very stunning. There aren’t many bronzers out there that are as silky and creamy as this one. It’s available in four different colors, and I’m wearing Light (the lightest of them all!). This is ideal for me because I don’t usually contour much and like bronzers that are more subtle in appearance. Depending on your preference, you may go for a deeper bronze or a more light and natural look. The thought of applying bronzer might be frightening for me, but this one goes on smoothly and is difficult to mess up!

The use of Saie’s Big Brush makes application a breeze. Aside from that, the nice beachy scent is just great. I believe it’s just fantastic! ☀️ Saie Bronzer is available for purchase here. Read this related post: “My Favorite Saie Makeup Products”

11)The Sunday Standard 18% Vitamin C + E Booster Serum

The use of Vitamin C in your beauty routine offers a variety of benefits, which you can read about in further detail in this post! Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that can help to protect skin from UV damage while also brightening it. My favorite recent discovery is a new 18 percent Vitamin C + E Booster Serum that is just fantastic. This product can be used on its own or in combination with your favorite organic face oil. However, it is enough hydrating for me to use it without the addition of other oils.

  1. Mmmm.
  2. This one causes me no discomfort at all, and I am beyond excited to continue using it throughout the summer!
  3. Receive a discount on your first Sunday Standard purchase during the checkout process!
  4. However, it can be difficult for me to limit things down at times, hehe.

6 Beauty Products Dermatologists Say You Should Actually Splurge On (And 5 You Shouldn’t)

Of course, we fawn over beautiful things, but having money is also a very wonderful thing. When it comes to makeup, it’s easy to get caught into the vortex of $40 lipsticks and $400 moisturizers because of the glitzy packaging, vibrant colors, and confused nomenclature (peptides, retinols, and antioxidants, oh my!). Nevertheless, which cosmetic products are truly worthwhile, and which ones are simply not worth the price tag? Spending more than $10 on these things, for example, is not recommended.

Splurge: Serums

Pcaskin Because serums are produced with the tiniest molecules possible, they may permeate the skin on a deeper level and access your cells to effect change, according to Lindsey Blondin, lead esthetician at GeorgeThe Salon in Chicago. Since it takes a lot of research to manufacture these small molecules, serums (even the lower-quality ones) are quite expensive, according to the author. Low-cost serums are typically formulated with a high concentration of filler chemicals and molecules that are too large to enter your skin on a cellular level.

In addition, stay away from these 6 anti-aging products that you don’t truly need. Test out this product: PCA Skin C E; Strength Max Anti-Aging Serum ($97; pcaskin.com; dermstore.com). With this simple avocado mask recipe, you can give yourself a DIY facial:

Splurge: Retinol

Neiman Marcus is a department store in New York City. When it comes to topical anti-aging therapies, retinol continues to be the gold standard. The dermatologist Joshua Zeichner, MD, head of cosmetic and clinical research at the Department of Dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, explains how retinol may help strengthen the skin’s foundation while also improving the look of fine lines and wrinkles with regular usage. Not all retinol-containing products, on the other hand, are made equal.

For Zeichner, it’s important to find goods that have been shown beneficial in clinical research since “it is a highly unstable chemical” and has to be correctly prepared in order to remain active and penetrate adequately into the skin.

Splurge: Sunscreen

Josh Rosebrook is a writer and musician from Los Angeles, California. Because sunscreen must be worn every day, higher quality ingredients that are better for the skin (such as zinc oxide and titanium dioxide) are the way to go, according to Kim Kelder, lead esthetician and skincare expert atMiraval ResortSpain Arizona. This is especially true if you have concerns about ingredient safety and chemical exposure when it comes to sunscreens. You’ll have to spend a little more money, but the peace of mind (as well as the protected skin) is priceless.

Splurge: Exfoliator

Amazon You may be able to save money by purchasing a low-quality exfoliant, but you will be doing your skin no favors. “Exfoliating is one of the most crucial measures in anti-aging since it helps to renew cell turnover,” Blondin explains. Overly abrasive scrubs can actually create microscopic cuts, scrapes, and rips in the skin, which can result in fine lines, wrinkles, scars, and broken capillaries in the skin. To avoid skin damage, search for an exfoliator that has light granules, such as jojoba beads, in order to minimize irritation.

Splurge: Foundation

Because a flawless finish is dependent on not only matching the shade correctly but also using high-quality components that don’t irritate your skin, according to Sherber, the formulation of complexion products, such as foundation or concealer, may make a significant difference in their performance.

In the event that you want assistance in selecting a foundation for your skin type, see this professional guidance. Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation ($43, sephora.com, makeupforever.com) is a good option.

Splurge: Cleansing brush

Isn’t it true that expensive sonic washing brushes and more affordable spinning types are essentially the same thing? It turns out that this is not the case. According to Erica Parker, aesthetician and director of education atMichael Todd Beauty, “Sonic skin washing brushes employ a special sweeping action of the brush bristles that’s meant to dig just below the skin’s surface, into the pores and deep-set wrinkles.” “With sonic technology, there is no pulling or tugging of the skin because of the moderate side-to-side motion that maintains the skin’s safe range of flexibility.” Alternatively, spinning brushes do not have the capacity to get into pores and wrinkles.

They also have the tendency to catch and tug at the skin, resulting in loss of skin firmness.

Consider using the Soniclear Petite Sonic Skin Cleansing Brush ($89; ulta.com) to remove makeup.

Save: Cleanser

Target Even if you’ve never seen an Anderson Cooper eye roll before, it’s not impossible to imagine coming across a face cleanser from a well-known beauty brand that costs as much as your car (just kidding, kind of). A high price tag for a face care cleanser, according to Parker, would never be justified by the contents in the product. A cleanser is only on your face for a maximum of 2 minutes, so even if a firm were to include expensive components in their cleanser that take time to work (for example, peptides), they would not be on your face for long enough to be effective in the long run.

(You should also avoid purchasing these eight items that dermatologists never use on their own skin.) For example, try the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser ($10-15; target.com, ulta.com).

Save: Moisturizer

Walmart In Zeichner’s opinion, “you don’t have to spend a fortune to acquire a high-quality moisturizer.” In addition, “many drugstore products are readily dispersed, do not leave the skin sticky, and deliver good quality skin hydration,” says the author. Furthermore, if you’ve already spent money on a serum, your moisturizer just has to serve as a sealer, safeguarding the active components beneath the surface of the skin so they may continue to work uninterrupted. (Just make sure you don’t do any of these nine frequent moisturizer blunders!)
