How much does it cost to stay at the ashram?

Ashram stay: The cost of staying in the ashram is 1500 INR + tax per night per person for a shared room (approximately $21 USD), which includes accommodation, two yoga classes per day (except Sunday evening), three sattvic vegetarian meals per day, Guided Meditation, Vedic hawan (Fire Pooja), and Kirtans (chanting) (Every Tuesday and Thursday). It is possible to book a private room for an extra price of 500 INR per night per person (per person).   • At all times, all communal spaces must be dressed in a manner that is culturally acceptable. There will be no tank tops, shorts, or anything that exposes the stomach, breast, back, or legs throughout the event. We urge that you avoid wearing tight clothing so that you can get the most out of the practices and avoid injury. This clothing code is applicable to both men and women and is intended to demonstrate respect for the local culture.
  • Sadhaks must be back on the premises by 09:30 p.m. at the latest. Between the hours of 9 p.m. and 9 a.m., every day, the Ashram is a silent zone.
  • This is a self-healing environment that is organic, beneficial, and self-sustaining. It is not authorized to smoke, consume alcohol, eat meat, or use any other type of intoxicant in any form.

(E-RYT 500) (E-RYT 500) In 2011, while pursuing her B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics, Diala, a Raleigh native, was introduced to yoga for the first time. She observed a difference in her mental and physical state after a few courses. After this experience piqued her interest, she decided to pursue her 200-hour YTT in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica, where she learned about the philosophy of yoga. She participated in an immersion program where she learned about the behaviors that, in the end, help us become our most modest and content selves.

Since then, she has taught and participated in yoga events in over ten countries spanning Europe, Asia, and Australia, as well as in the United States.

Diala has learned to ride the waves of life rather than trying to battle them via the practice of yoga. Because she thinks that wherever you are in your practice is always sufficient, she will provide you with the extra push necessary to exceed your expectations when you are ready.

Briana Kidd

(E-RYT 200) discovered yoga when she was 12 years old, when she attended to a yoga class with her father and sister to practice together. As a gymnast at the time, I found the physical workout to be a delight to include into my routine. When Briana finished gymnastics in high school, she recalled how much she liked yoga and decided to continue her exploration of the discipline after that. After leaving for college at Appalachian State University, Briana immersed herself in her daily yoga practice, which she found to be particularly beneficial in helping her to feel at ease and grounded in the mountains.

This encounter confirmed to her that she is exactly where she is supposed to be.

As a result of her research, she discovered that the stable positions of yoga provide a gateway towards gaining control of one’s thought process and creating one’s own reality.

The sharing of her enthusiasm and experiences with others is something Briana likes doing, and she attempts to make everyone feel welcome, comfortable, and connected to their greatest selves.

Dalhya Lusk

Initially, yoga entered Dalhya’s life while she was a stressed-out first-year teacher. All of the jogging she was doing as an assistant cross-country coach seemed to be a fantastic complement to her other activities. However, it rapidly developed into something much more. In reality, it has evolved into a way of life that is inextricably linked to the “practice” that it began as. Yoga was a constant throughout her years of traveling between continents and states, allowing her to re-center and re-ground herself.

The skills that have enabled her to undergo such a transition in her own life are something she is enthusiastic about sharing with others.

Having done so, she has continued to educate teenagers and adults alike in schools, jails, and yoga studios, all while maintaining her status as a lifelong learner first and foremost.

In order to build deeper calm and significance in our life, she enjoys locating the flow point when the mind and body are in sync with the breath and delving into that zone.

Jot Anant

Lauren’s lessons are based on the principle of using the ancient knowledge of yoga to heal ourselves in order to contribute to the healing of the planet. This is at the heart of all of her courses. In her opinion, we can both appreciate and care for our individual selves and needs while also honoring and supporting the collective community that we have created in our minds and hearts. With her instructor, Himalayan Yoga Master Yogrishi Vishveketu, who is the founder of Akhanda Yoga, she is able to openly express her love, compassion, playfulness, and pleasure because of the comprehensive and balanced approach she was taught by her teacher.

Using her training in Yin Yoga, Trauma Informed Yoga, Yoga for PTSDTBI, Thai Yoga Bodywork, and her life experiences of serving others, traveling, and learning from the diverse array of teachers that are presented along life’s path, Lauren creates a safe space in which students can explore the depths of their being, build a stronger relationship with themselves, drop deeper into gratitude, and use their own intuition to support expansion and transformation.

Lauren skillfully mixes science and spirituality together, giving a unique balance of anatomy/alignment with the deeper spiritual characteristics of the therapy to her clients.

Aaliya Noorani

Aaliya is a certified E-500 RYT yoga instructor based in Vancouver, Canada. Because Aaliya studied in India, the birthplace of yoga, her classes combine traditional foundations of physical asana, pranayama (breath work), yoga philosophy, and mantra (chanting) meditation with a contemporary approach to philosophy and practice, resulting in s students having a holistic and integrative experience. Yoga instructor Aaliya has taught yoga throughout North America as well as Europe, Africa, and Asia, and she has developed a method of teaching yoga that is both accessible and enlightening to students from a variety of backgrounds and experience levels.

The traditional philosophy, mythology, and mantra that she practices constitute the foundation of her practice.

Those who engage in these disciplines get understanding that connects them to their ancestral origins as well as to their own intrinsic expanded ability.

Amy Jean

Amy (RYT 500) began practicing yoga in 2009, while pursuing her bachelor’s degree in dietetics and nutrition at the University of Florida. While attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania, she took her first yoga session in a fitness center, where she quickly fell enamored with the physical component of the practice. Not until 2014, after several lessons, instructors, and studios did she grasp the true power of this practice—the link between the mind, body, and spirit—which she shares with her students.

Yoga is a daily reset for Amy, and it is a crucial element of her routine in order to ride the ebbs and flows that each day gives her.

She challenges you to show up to the mat and just move with the breath in order to achieve this.

Mandy Gerhardt

Mandy is a certified yoga instructor (RYT 200hr) as well as a professional ballerina with the Carolina Ballet. How To Be Your Authentic Self (It’s Easier Than You Think)

In the wake of returning from organizing an international yoga trip to Rishikesh in India and seeing the site of my YTT (yoga teacher training) that I participated in 12 years ago, I was moved to revisit this issue once more.

In addition, yoga, which has its roots in this area, is a beautiful and often intangible thing, a way of life with guiding principles, as well as a physical practice, a breathing practice, and a variety of other practices.

What is The Authentic Self?

What what does it mean to live an authentic life, and how does one go about doing so? Relationship gurus and genuine leaders will all proclaim that an authentic person does this or that, but this does not explain what it means to be an authentic individual. Indeed, even the greatest thinkers, from Rousseau to Sartre, have wrestled with the term in an attempt to get a greater knowledge of the self as well as one’s own unique authenticity. There are many who would have you believe that authenticity can only be achieved in’speaking the truth,’ no matter what the repercussions may be.

  1. Genuine human beings spend their lives in complete surrender to the divine moment.
  2. Consider the following analogy: counterfeit items, such as handbags, watches, and clothing, are frequently offered in place of the genuine article.
  3. In most cases, it is the smaller features of the product that reveal the truth.
  4. For specific items, this may be seen in the stitching, what is written on the label, how the material pleats, or even the lining of the object.
  5. I While our conscious, surface mind is continuously churning away, taking in our everyday lives and surrounds, our inner mind is extremely skilled at sifting information and identifying inconsistencies and abnormalities in the information.
  6. Often, it is this inner voice or instinct that causes our conscious mind to become aware of the need to examine authenticity.

It can sometimes force you out of your comfort zone, but not always in a positive way. The ability to distinguish between authenticity and non-authenticity is possessed by authentic individuals who are living in full awareness of their surroundings.

Define Authenticity (And Inauthenticity)

Okay, so we know that true leaders are smoothly floating through life, completely relaxed and unaffected by their surroundings. But what does it mean to live a life that is real in the first place? And who exactly are these genuine individuals? Authentic individuals are those who are:

  • Self-aware, modest, open to feedback, open to new views and ideas, and practitioners of love are all qualities to possess.

We have the ability to tune into our internal cues, which can warn us to things that may not be what they appear to be. We have the ability to be self-aware and open to any new experience that may be beneficial to our growth. In order to reinforce the concept of being real and having authenticity, we may put all of these aspects together. But what would it be like on the inside? First and foremost, you must examine your own genuineness. Examine your own personal identity as well as the identity that you inherited from your family.

As you begin to live a more honest life, you will have a pleasant sensation of ahhh.

This can appear as improved sleep, less worry, increased energy, and a variety of other beneficial results.

Tips on Being Your Authentic Self

As a yoga instructor, I want to infuse honesty into each and every yoga session that I instruct. By asking myself a few questions, I am able to maintain a strong connection with my authentic self. I ponder where my ego is at in all of this right now. It is normal to shy away from yoga poses or other components of the practice that you find difficult or less pleasurable. The fact that I’m enabling people to see the things I’m working on, battling with, and breathing through helps me remember that I’m keeping my practice authentic.

  1. It is natural for people to struggle.
  2. Or, perhaps, it is not resistance at all, but rather a stubborn dedication to something that is just not functioning.
  3. It might be difficult to let go of a session after putting in the effort to plan it out ahead of time.
  4. Is it appropriate for me to be presenting this session from the correct location?
  5. I set a goal for myself to bring modifications to sessions from time to time, both large and minor in scale.
  6. Alternatively, I may share a new yogic mantra that I’ve found.
  7. Interact with yogis and learn about their feelings, their experiences.

Also, being grounded enough to see that you will not satisfy everyone all of the time and understanding that this is perfectly OK. (This includes your personal assessment of how well you performed in any practice.)

What Does an Authentic Life Look Like?

I polled over 20 people to find out what they considered to be “genuine.” The following five common threads were identified during the research: When I’m writing, I’m being true to myself.

  • Being content with doing my best while understanding that it is good enough
  • Accepting without judgment or expectations
  • Doing what feels right for me
  • Paying attention to what I require
  • Without comparing myself to others

We study the inner and exterior workings of the body via Asana (physical postures) and Pranayama (breathwork).
