Mindfulness Retreats for Families

Mindfulness has been shown to improve cognitive functioning and happiness. It helps to reduce anxiety and disorganized thinking. For obvious reasons, mindfulness retreats are increasingly include members of the entire family. Yoga and mindfulness are beneficial to youngsters just as much as they are to adults. It aids in the development of a mind-body connection, the improvement of self-regulation abilities, and the use of deep breathing as a stress-relieving technique. Teaching your children about mindfulness will benefit their health and well-being as a whole.

Yoga For Kids

Yoga is a tremendously effective method for developing a strong connection between the mind and the body. By becoming aware of your body, you may freely enjoy this world without becoming entangled in all of its stresses and difficulties (at least not so much). Essentially, it has the potential to change one’s life. Consider what would happen if you gave such skills to young people, children, and even newborns. It’s difficult to imagine growing up with that kind of physical awareness as a kid.

The practice of yoga can help kids learn self-regulation abilities as well as expose them to the concept of movement meditation.

Incorporating your children into family yoga sessions may help them learn about the benefits of yoga, what it’s like to pay attention to the directions of the yoga instructor, how to recognize yoga poses, and how to stay on the yoga mat (depending on the age of your child).

Children’s yoga courses are particularly beneficial since they create a complete flow of yoga postures just for children, allowing you to be certain that your child will be able to follow up with what the yoga teacher advises.

The practice of yoga for children can assist young people in setting themselves up for a lifetime of health and well-being.

Christian Family Camps

There are a plethora of Christian family centers from which to pick if you are searching for a chance to strengthen your family’s ties with one another and with Jesus Christ. Christian marriage or couples therapy, team building activities, bible study, and family-style meals are all available at many of these locations. In this regard, America Keswickis a wonderful example of a Christian retreat center that promotes God’s grace via engaging in healthy activities.

YMCA Camps

The YMCA provides a plethora of wonderful family-oriented programming, including family camps. Camp Chingachgookin New York is a hugely popular camp that accommodates hundreds of families every year, and it’s no surprise why. Their popularity may be attributed to the fact that they provide a diverse range of scheduled activities, such as hiking, bow and arrow shooting, soccer, football, arts and crafts, and others. In the summer, there are bonfires, and in the winter, there are winter sports.

In all seriousness, even if you don’t have any children, it appears to be a wonderful weekend getaway;).

Costa Rica Family Yoga Retreat

The Costa Rican slogan “Pura Vida” is more than simply a slang word; it is a way of life that is intentional and purposeful. Simply translated, it means “simple life” or “pure life,” but in reality, it refers to a state of mind that allows one to go with the flow of events as they unfold. Unsurprisingly, Costa Rica has been ranked as one of the world’s happiest countries by the United Nations. As we dip our toes into the Pura Vida way of life in order to feel deeper connection and more flow with ourselves and our family, we welcome you to join us on this unique retreat / vacation.

You will be woken by the sounds of the rainforest and the rising sun as your biorhythms are re-established.

In addition to a world-class spa with specialized healers offering specialist wellness treatments (including Watsu pool massage), our center provides off-site activities like as zip-lining, white water rafting, and waterfall and butterfly garden tours for those looking for some additional action.

Your family and we are looking forward to sharing thePura Vida!

After spent the previous eight months traveling with our children, it is possible for events to become a little too’same same’. Yes, I realize that sounds really annoying. The longer you travel, the more difficult it is to find one-of-a-kind experiences. Then we went to the Power of Now Oasis for a customized family yoga retreat, and everything changed. To be quite honest, I had never heard of this notion before, but it is really ingenious and entertaining. Kolonial House was the perfect place for us to spend three nights with our two children.

  • Because the studio and the home are just 200 metres apart, it was really simple to travel from one to the other.
  • They are both wonderful people, and we had a great time hanging out with them both!
  • The Power of Now Oasis staff generally provides a few itinerary alternatives, but we were treated to a surprise, which was just wonderful!
  • The fact that we didn’t have to think about anything was my favorite part!

The element of surprise was really appealing to me. When we arrived, we were given a copy of our itinerary, but I wasn’t familiar with some of the names, such as ‘Bokashi.’ Allow me to show everything in our standard sequence of play, sleep, and food!

We arrived late on our first day, so after checking in, we retired to our rooms for the night. The next morning, my husband and I had an Ayurvedic consultation in the wee hours of the morning. It is a traditional Indian medical practice that focuses on identifying and eradicating the root causes of disease. A large part of the theory is built on the relationship between what goes into the body and what comes out. The Ayurveda doctor answered a series of inquiries regarding the patient’s mental and physical well-being before prescribing treatment.

For example, I am classified as a ‘kapha’.

In the same way, he examined my troublesome hip and prescribed certain exercises to strengthen it while keeping my yoga practice in mind.

Even if there was quite a bit of discussion regarding my bowel habits and certain things that made me ‘think’ about myself, it was a pleasant evening.

Following our consultation, we returned to the studio, where we all ate breakfast and the crew organized an official opening ceremony for us to attend. We sat on comfortable seats while they demonstrated how offerings are prepared and what they represent, and then we were officially welcomed. It was a really laid-back atmosphere, and the children were free to roam about. Our kid had a great time participating and receiving rice grains as a blessing for her forehead.

We had booked yoga courses every day, but the instructors were wonderfully accommodating to our needs. It was sometimes more convenient for me to attend a lesson in the morning or later in the day. Since kids don’t always adhere to schedules, the ability to be flexible was really beneficial to us in this situation. I had a great time at the classes. I tried Hatha flow with Menik and Iyenger yoga with Lisa, both of whom were excellent. It’s always a good idea to try new things, and Iyenger yoga was surely something unusual.

  1. It’s located in a big bamboo eco building directly on the beachfront.
  2. In particular, Angelique the sacred cow, who had been residing on the area for a long time before the studio was constructed!
  3. Once a week, they provide a yoga class for the children from Jodie O’Shea’s orphanage.
  4. It’s a long-standing tradition at the studio that has endured for quite some time.

We brought our young child along with us. On Wednesday evenings, it takes place and is a lot more enjoyable and light-hearted than a typical yoga session. Yes, I’m sure you’re starting to get a sense of how fantastic the proprietor Chris is, aren’t you?

So, the first question I had was, what exactly is Bokashi? When Lola asked if I wanted a surprise, I decided to go along with it and simply wait to see what would happen. We were picked up in a vehicle from Kolonial House, where we were staying. Our driver transported us approximately twenty minutes away to what appeared to be a spa facility. In the beginning, we were given a really deep tissue massage. While the children were there with us, the adults were very content for them to sit in between our legs and even gave them a small massage to keep them content.

  • The four of us dressed in what appeared to be an in-uniform, mate’s taking turns.
  • There’s nothing more to it but a hood and a center zip.
  • The concept is to secrete all of the poisons by a process known as ‘taking away the layers.’ It was really hot, and I have to admit that it was one of the most unusual sensations I’d had in a long time, to say the least.
  • It was fantastic, and my kid thought it was amusing as well.

There are several adventurous activities available at the Power of Now Oasis. For the more brave, stand up paddle boarding, surfing, or kiteboarding may be arranged. We found paddle boarding to be extremely enjoyable because we were able to take the kid on the board right off the beach. We hired a babysitter one morning and went on a surfing session with a friend. The fact that I got up and walked around a couple of times was quite nice. I’ve been attempting to surf as often as possible over the last few months whenever the opportunity presents itself.

The Power of Now Oasis were incredible! When we arrived, they were waiting for us with two bicycles equipped with child seats. We utilized them to go to and from the yoga studio and to tour the rest of Sanur in general. Riding in the car with the kids was a favorite activity, especially along the seaside. It was a really safe location to cycle, and it was certainly the most convenient mode of transportation. We’ve been in Bali for quite some time now, and I’ve been scratching my head, wondering why I hadn’t thought of it sooner.

The streets were deserted, and the air was still refreshingly cold.

The Influence of the Present Oasis is well-versed on the best places to visit in the area, whether it’s a restaurant or a spa. They brought us to a fairly nice spa for a one-hour Balinese massage, which was extremely nice. Esme and I both had pedicures while husband was getting his done. When it came time for me to go, he returned the children to their hotel room.

We were given the option of choosing from three different massage oils. The surroundings were quite tranquil and calm. We were greeted with ginger drinks and a cool face cloth to get us started. The massage was really wonderful!

Kolonial House is an absolutely fantastic addition to the retreat. Despite the fact that we were participating in several enjoyable activities, we still had plenty of time to rest and enjoy the most adorable boutique hotel. Two villa-type apartments are clustered around a swimming pool. Because they are ‘colonial’ in design, they have high ceilings, four-post beds, and some very gorgeous vintage furnishings. The outdoor kitchen was a big hit with us. In contrast to a traditional hotel, it is always convenient to have the ability to prepare the children’s favorite food.

The staff are very kind and incredibly helpful.

He was fantastic at providing us with helpful hints and suggestions for our stay.

We’ve all experienced what it’s like to be in the midst of a “witching hour.” He was really accepting of the youngsters and stated that they enjoyed having children around.

Every morning, we walked over to the studio for a quick breakfast. The cuisine is very delicious. The menu includes made-to-order omelettes, oats, or freshly chopped fruits served with granola and yoghurt (if available). They feature a large selection of excellent freshly squeezed juices and smoothies. My personal favorite was a smoothie made with cashews, dates, bananas, and cinnamon. Everything about it was fantastic, especially after a yoga lesson. In the same way, they provided us with lunch every day at the studio.

  • Anyone who is vegan will find it to be a true paradise.
  • It was very excellent.
  • According to my understanding, the notion of a “personalized family yoga retreat” is rather new.
  • They are highly adaptive at Power of Now Oasis, so if you come up with any suggestions, they will be able to assist you with them.

Why Go For Family Retreats?

The majority of the time, family retreats are intended to provide a combined learning experience with recreational activities. As a result, while planning a family getaway trip, consider the following factors that may be motivating this decision:

  • Time to Unplug: First and foremost, a yoga retreat allows the entire family to disconnect from their daily routines and focus on strengthening their personal relationships with one another. Aside from that, doing yoga and living a Sattvic lifestyle gives value to your mind, body, and soul by creating a shared source of power and inspiration among you and your family. Increased Level of Communication: Being in the presence of family members is unquestionably a rewarding experience that also guarantees a high level of entertainment. You will have the opportunity to offer personal opinions that will ultimately aid in the development of improved communication among family members.

The most intriguing feature of family yoga retreats is the one-of-a-kind chance that they give to learn and interact with family members while simultaneously experiencing tranquility and Mother Nature. You may be assured of returning home with pleasant recollections if you plan ahead of time and travel to a desirable location.
