Typically including 4-6 components, with the majority of them providing around 24g carbohydrate, 12g protein, and 8-10g fat per serving. LARABAR Love

I received an email from L„RABARasking if I would be interested in evaluating some of their chocolate bars on my blog a couple of weeks ago. I answered quickly with a resounding “Hell, yeah!” LARABAR is one of my favorite foods. In the event that I don’t have the time to prepare my own bars, LARABARs is one of my preferred brands since they aren’t candy bars masquerading as healthy snack bars. Their bars are free of preservatives, added sugar, fillers, and colorings, and include only a handful of ingredients, all of which are things I recognize and understand – a breath of fresh air in a world full of processed junk!

  1. Matt and I carried a large number of LARABARs with us on our recent vacation to Puerto Rico, and we prefer to have them on hand for bike rides as well as other activities.
  2. In particular, I was looking forward to trying one of their newest varieties, Blueberry Muffin.
  3. It’s pretty much unbelievable.
  4. My top 5 favorite LARABAR flavors are as follows, in no particular order:
  1. Tropical Fruit Tart, Peanut Butter Jelly, Blueberry Muffin, Carrot Cake, and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip are some of the dessert options.

What are some of your favorite LARABAR flavor combinations? In the meanwhile, visit the L„RABAR website to print up a $1 off a purchase of two LARABARs coupon that is valid until December 31, 2013. Because Larabars range in price from $1 to $2, this is a fantastic value! I’m going to go ahead and print one right now for myself. Have a wonderful night! This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of L„RABAR. All opinions are my own. All of my thoughts and ideas are entirely my own.

12 Recipes for Homemade Larabars

Larabars are a favorite of many people. Larabar fruit and nut bars are a delectable after-school treat. They are especially well-suited for gluten-free and vegan diet enthusiasts. However, the expense is something that the majority of us do not enjoy. At around $1.20 per bar, they may be somewhat expensive as a snack. Rather than being a snack that I can keep on hand all the time, Larabars are a pleasure that I enjoy every now and then. But I’ve come up with a solution! Making homemade bars that are quite similar to Larabars is a simple process.

According to my calculations, homemade Larabars are at least 40 cents less expensive than store-bought ones!

Those savings build up quickly in the long run. Furthermore, these homemade Larabars are simple to prepare. When you prepare them yourself, you have the freedom to experiment with different flavors and combinations of ingredients. Take out your food processor and a few dates, and you’re good to go!

These are my favorite 12 recipes for homemade Larabars. All of them are gluten-free, and vegan!

How to Make Homemade Larabars

Making your own Larabars is as simple as blending the ingredients in a food processor until they are equally combined, making a rectangle, then cutting the bars into squares or rectangles. For clean edges on the bars, I like to freeze the rectangle for 30 minutes before cutting it. The recipes for each of our favorite four flavors are included below, however they are all based on one master Larabar recipe, which is as follows:

  • One and a half cups dried fruit: Dates are a natural sweetener and a binding agent in practically every bar, holding everything together. After that, we add extra dried fruits for taste (apples, pineapple, cherries, and raisins, for example!).
  • 1 cup roasted nuts: Almonds are commonly used in larabars, however walnuts and pecans also work well in them.

Apple Pie Larabars

Everything you love about apple pie — the warm spices of the season, the raisins, and the nuts – is now available in a convenient little bar! To create this apple pie taste, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • Dates: Medjooldates give natural flavor to our Larabars while also acting as a glue to hold them together. Raisins: You can use either dark or golden raisins for this recipe. Apples that have been dried: It wouldn’t be apple pie if there weren’t any apples! Fresh apples would have made these bars excessively liquid (and hence less shelf stable), so we’re using dried apples in place of fresh apples. You may find them on the internet here. Almonds: In addition to almonds, Larabars contain a number of additional popular ingredients. They provide a satisfying crunch as well as beneficial fats. With both omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, walnuts are more than simply a delectable addition to the bars
  • They’re also beneficial to your health as well. Cinnamon is an essential ingredient in apple pie spice! Ground cinnamon serves the purpose well (but you may go crazy and toss in some ground nutmeg and cloves as well)
  • And

You’ll simply just dump all of the components for your Apple Pie Larabar into a food processor and pulse until the nuts and apples are finely chopped and uniformly distributed. Despite the fact that these bars keep their shape nicely, I still like to place them in the freezer after molding them into a rectangle in order to make cutting them simpler.

Cherry Pie Larabars

Cherry Pie is the next course of action. These are the winners of the “Shortest Ingredients List” award — you’ll only need three ingredients to make them!

  • Cherry Pie is coming next. There will only be three ingredients in this recipe, which makes it the winner of the “Shortest Ingredients List” category.

Place all of the ingredients for your Cherry Pie Larabar in a food processor and pulse until well combined. Because these bars are a little more wet, it’s a good idea to put them in the freezer after shaping the dough into a rectangle to make cutting them a little simpler.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Larabars

A few components were changed in our version of the Larabars recipe: we eliminated the cashews and replaced them with whole rolled oats to get the right cookie dough texture and flavor. You’re not meant to have favorite children, but.this one happens to be one of mine!

  • Dates: Medjooldates give natural flavor to our Larabars while also acting as a glue to hold them together. Chocolaty Chips: I used semi-sweet chocolate chips, while dark chocolate would be equally delicious (and vegan!). Rolled Oats: Rolled (also known as old-fashioned) oats give these bars a nutty taste and make them extremely irresistible! When in a hurry, quick oats can be substituted, albeit the texture will be different (steel cut oats would not work here). Sea salt pulls out the tastes of the oats and chocolate, bringing forth that cookie dough flavor to its fullest extent. Vanilla extract: To finish it off, use high-quality vanilla extract.

To create these Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Larabars, combine all of the ingredients (except the chocolate chips) in a blender until smooth.

Once you have a well-combined dough, toss in the chocolate chips and shape it into a rectangle with your hands. Place the pan in the freezer for 30 minutes before cutting into bars.

Carrot Cake Larabars

Although the ingredient list is lengthier, each one is essential in the creation of these delectable Carrot Cake Larabars!

  • Dates: Medjooldates give natural flavor to our Larabars while also acting as a glue to hold them together. A staple ingredient in carrot cake, raisins add a rich sweetness that is evocative of traditional carrot cake. Dried pineapple adds an extra layer of sweetness to our cake bars. If you have difficulties locating them, you may purchase them online here. Add almonds for crunch and substance by throwing them in the mix. With both omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, walnuts are more than simply a delectable addition to the bars
  • They’re also beneficial to your health as well. Use use unsweetened shredded coconut in this recipe
  • Else, it will taste bitter. Carrot: Because we’ll be using fresh shredded carrots, the shelf life of these bars will be shorter than the shelf life of the other varieties. Cinnamon: You can’t have a spice cabinet without it! Ground cinnamon is ideal for this recipe (but you may go crazy and use ground nutmeg and cloves as well)
  • Extra Virgin Coconut Oil: To bring everything together, add a teaspoon of extra virgin coconut oil.

Combine all of the ingredients in a food processor and pulse until they are equally blended. Because these bars are the softest of all the flavors, place them in the freezer for at least 30 minutes before cutting into squares or rectangles. Approximately 6 bars each taste. Made with natural ingredients, these Homemade Larabars are a simple and healthy energy bar recipe that anybody can make. Choose your own adventure: Apple Pie, Cherry Pie, Carrot Cake, or Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough are all possibilities!

Apple Pie

  • 12 cup dates (about 5)
  • 14 cup raisins (35 g)
  • 1 cup dried apples (115 g)
  • 14 cup almonds (35 g)
  • 14 cup walnuts (35 g)
  • 12 teaspoon cinnamon

Cherry pie

  • 12 cup dates (about 5)
  • 1 cup dried cherries (140 g)
  • 12 cup almonds (35 g)

Cookie Dough

  • 12 cup dates (about 5)
  • 14 teaspoon salt
  • 12 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12 cup rolled oats (45 g)
  • 14 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (40 g)

Carrot Cake

  • 12 cup dates (about 5)
  • 14 cup raisins (35 g)
  • 14 cup dried pineapple (35 g)
  • 14 cup almonds (35 g)
  • 14 cup walnuts (35 g)
  • 14 cup unsweetened shredded coconut (25 g)
  • 14 cup shredded carrot (25 g)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (5 mL)
  • Soak: Decide on the taste of the soaking solution you’ll use. Prior to using the dates (and, if your recipe calls for them, the raisins), it is ideal if you soak them in hot water for 30 minutes before using them. Blitz: Place all of the ingredients in a food processor and pulse until smooth (if making Cookie Dough bars, do not add chocolate chips yet). Blitz the ingredients until they are finely broken down and uniformly incorporated, then set aside. Form the dough into a rectangle: Form the dough into a rectangle. It should be around 12 inches (111.2 cm) thick. Transfer to a plate or cutting board and place in the freezer for 30 minutes for the finest cutting results. Cut: Cut the rectangle into bars using a sharp knife. Wrap each bar individually in parchment paper or wax paper. Keep it refrigerated until you’re ready to serve it

Store in an airtight jar in the refrigerator for up to 2 to 3 weeks before using (the Carrot Cake Larabars have a shorter shelf life, and should be enjoyed within 1 week.)

Energy Bar Recipe

I ended up with a number of dates that were reaching the end of their usefulness for some reason or another. A long back, I recalled my step-mother cooking raw cookies, and I figured I’d give it a shot myself. Literally. Because they’re created in a food processor, they’re quick and easy. Ba-dum-bum. I’ll be here for the rest of the week, guys. The piano has a tip jar on the bench. After that, it was just a matter of time until the dates were transformed into chocolate chips and almonds. By the time I realized it, I was squeezing an unappealing but delectable paste into a parchment-lined baking sheet and shoving the whole thing into the refrigerator to harden up.

I closed my eyes for a moment, and when I opened them again, the cutting board had been reduced to mere crumbs, and I found myself surrounded by a group of big-eyed, finger-licking, hollow-legged, teen and pre-teen boys, who were not-so-innocently inquiring as to whether or not I had a second pan of my larabar recipe hidden somewhere in that refrigerator.

  1. Because I had anticipated this possibility, I divided the mixture into three different pans, but I wasn’t going to tell THEM about it.
  2. I wished it could have lasted longer than a day.
  3. One seller said, “These taste just like Snickers bars,” as the adults devoured the bars in the same manner that my children did.
  4. So, where does the Larabar from the title of the dish fit into all of this, exactly?
  5. When I informed her that it was a basis of ground dates, she cried, “OH!
  6. And it’s at this point that I take responsibility for the first two reasons I avoided energy bars.
  7. What if you could get something cheap, tasty, and healthy?
  8. Count me among those who have been won over.
  9. 1.

Make your own larabars and store them in a sandwich bag in your jacket pocket to keep you fueled for long fall walks or treks, or just to snack on when you’re feeling hungry. With the exception of a little dark chocolate, the ingredients are mostly fruits and nuts. I don’t see how you can lose.

Larabar Recipe

When selecting dates for your homemade larabars, be sure to select ones that are moist rather than too dry in texture. This improves the texture quality of the finished bars, as well as making it simpler for your food processor to blend the entire shebang together in the first place. The option of whether to use raw or roasted almonds in your larabar recipe is entirely up to you. My favorite way to eat them is toasted because it adds a little additional nuttiness, but my husband loves them raw.

I use whichever natural nut butter we happen to have on hand – most commonly peanut butter – but sunflower butter, almond butter, and peanut butter all work just as well as the peanut butter.

Use these to make Homemade Larabars

Homemade Larabars

A sheet of parchment paper should be used to line a 9×13 inch pan with enough paper to hang over the long sides to form a border. Make a mental note to put it away. Equip a food processor with a metal blade to process the ingredients. Pulse the almonds until they are consistently finely chopped in the processor until they are finely chopped (think fresh bread crumb texture.) Add in the chocolate chips and pulse until the chocolate chips are finely chopped as well as the rest of the ingredients.

  • Mix in half of the dates until a paste forms in the food processor and clumps together in the workbowl, about 30 seconds.
  • Replace the cover and process until the ingredients are equally distributed.
  • Repeat with the remaining dates, chocolaty nuts, and nut butter until all ingredients are used.
  • The extra parchment should be folded over the bars to cover them, and a flat and heavy object should be used to push down firmly on the mixture until it is completely smooth.

Transfer the now-firm bars from the pan to a big cutting board by slinging the excess parchment paper around your wrists and shoulders. Cut into preferred size squares (I prefer 30 squares) and keep in the refrigerator in a jar with a tight-fitting lid. A bar that has not been refrigerated will keep for 48 hours if kept covered and at room temperature.

Homemade Larabars

This Homemade Larabars clone has a flavor that is more akin to a Snickers bar than a healthy snack. The combination of only four ingredients -dates, chocolate, almonds, and natural nut butter – results in a delectable snack delight that also serves as an excellent source of sustained energy.

  • 4 cups whole pitted dates (wet dates work best)
  • 2 cups raw or toasted whole shelled almonds
  • 1 cup chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate
  • 2 tablespoons natural peanut butter or sunflower or cashew butter, divided (or more, if required)
  • A sheet of parchment paper should be used to line a 9×13 inch pan with enough paper to hang over the long sides to form a border. Remove from consideration
  • Equip a food processor with a metal blade to process the ingredients. Pulse the almonds until they are consistently finely chopped in the processor until they are finely chopped (think fresh bread crumb texture.) After that, add the chocolate chips and pulse until the chocolate chips are finely chopped as well. Using a large mixing basin, combine the chocolately nuts and put aside. Mix in half of the dates until a paste forms in the food processor and clumps together in the workbowl, about 30 seconds. Add one tablespoon of the nut butter and one-half of the chocolaty crushed nuts to a food processor and blend on high until smooth. Replace the cover and process until the ingredients are equally distributed. Scrape into the pan that has been prepared
  • Repeat with the remaining dates, chocolaty nuts, and nut butter until all ingredients are used. When all of the ingredients have been processed in this manner, moisten your hands and press the mixture into the bottom of the pan as evenly as you can with them. Fold the extra paper over the bars to completely cover them, then press down firmly on the mixture with anything flat and heavy until it is smooth
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before proceeding to the slicing stage of the process.

Mint Chip Brownie Homemade Larabars

Homemade Larabars in a mint chocolate flavor that has become a new favorite. Using only 5 ingredients, these nut-free energy bars are a nutritious high-carb, low-fat snack. Mint Chip Brownie is a Larabar flavor that has been hard to come by. It is not available on the internet. It is not available in supermarkets. It’s so expensive on Amazon that I assumed it was a bundle of 16 instead of 5. It’s the Bigfoot of fruit and nut bars, if you will. Is it real, or is it a myth? Yes, it does. It’s simply a Target exclusive, and they’re keeping it under wraps for the time being.

Target is not too near to where I live, which is a problem for me.

There’s a whole bridge between me and the other side of the river.

Particularly if it is a distance greater than I am willing to travel for a snack that is so simple to prepare at home.

Homemade Larabars

When compared to last week’sDIY Clif Bars, these are insanely simple to put together! And those were already quite straightforward. You might be wondering, “What is it with this current snack bar craze?”. It’s more that I’m on a constant eating binge; I simply try to keep it under control most of the time and post other things as well. Oats or nuts are a good choice. Traditionally, Larabars are created with nuts, usually a combination of almonds and cashews. However, I adore oats, as do the majority of you, and handmade Larabars are fantastic when made with oats!

  1. However, if using nuts makes you happy, by all means go ahead.
  2. Mint extract or oil might be used.
  3. This is a fantastic concept!
  4. It’s also not too expensive, especially considering that you only need a few drops at a time.
  5. Use whichever sort of minty flavour you prefer: extract, flavoring, or oil.
  6. Make them yourself!
  7. Print
  • 1 cup pitted medjool dates
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 tablespoons cacao powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract or 1–2 drops peppermint oil
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips or cacao nibs
  1. In a food processor, pulse together all of the ingredients until smooth. Continue to process until the mixture resembles a ball
  2. Form the shape of a rectangle. Refrigerate after cutting into bars.

I wrote this sponsored post on behalf of LRABARforSocialSpark, but all opinions are my own. All of my thoughts and ideas are entirely my own. The fact that I’m here today to tell you all about why I adore L-RABARs isn’t the only reason why I’m here; it’s also not because my name is Laura. Really, even if their name wasn’t close to mine, I’d still be smitten with them (although my boys might not think they were as cool). I’m not a big fan of pre-made bars and snacks, and I don’t buy many of them.

In addition to the fact that most pre-made bars don’t provide much in the way of genuine hunger satisfaction, they frequently contain components that I would regard to be compromise elements (yes, even in the organic ones).

Some of them include a total of only TWO components in their formulation.

It is made out of dates and cashews.

And it’s very delicious!

It’s quite amazing that they can create such a tasty bar with so many distinct flavors and types using such a little number of components.

The majority of LRABARs, with the exception of a few bars that include high-quality chocolate chips, are dairy-free, sugar-free, artificial sweetener-free, soy-free, and vegan.

They’re packed with nuts and fruit.what a deliciously nutritious mix of ingredients!

LRABAR, you did an excellent job!

The pharmaceutical department at Wal-Mart really has some, which I discovered by chance!

However, I must express my displeasure.

These components are more expensive than puffed rice and high fructose corn syrup.

A candy bar could be available for less than a dollar, after all!

Why not invest that money on something that would provide you with nourishment and full you up?!:) Your L-RABAR voucher may be obtained at the following location: It entitles you to $1 off any two bars.a fantastic offer! Have you ever tried L-RABARs before? Which one is your personal favorite?
