Pat was a hero long before the events of September 11th, 2001, but this day confirmed it.

They were the final people to be killed as the twin towers collapsed.

Watts’ book is a monument to this exceptional human being, who serves as a reminder that heroes do, in fact, exist in our modern world.

Some people hear our cries and then respond by giving everything they have – even if it means sacrificing themselves.

It has been said that Pat is a haunting novel that will restore your confidence, and that it will make you think of the song I Need a Hero by Bonnie Tyler.

Pat distinguished himself in an era when we are all looking for ourselves by providing the largest amount of love that anyone could possibly give.

Miss You, Pat: Collected Memories of NY’s Bravest of the Brave, Captain Patrick J. Brown

Many of his fellow yoga practitioners were unaware that Pat was a legend in the Fire Department of New York City, with a sixth sense that enabled him to locate defenseless victims in the midst of complete mayhem and dense smoke. Likewise, his brother firemen were completely unaware that “Paddy” was a Black Belt in karate who specialized in teaching self-defense to the visually impaired. Alternatively, he may have mentioned that he was a distinguished USMC Vietnam War veteran. Alternatively, a former Golden Gloves competitor and outstanding fighter.

  1. Pat didn’t say anything about what he did; he just went out and did it without thinking about it.
  2. Brown was known for having an amazing capacity to be exactly where he was required at precisely the correct time.
  3. Outside of the FDNY, the many individuals whose lives he touched are unanimous in their belief that he was inspired when it came to understanding their pain and figuring out how to help them recover.
  4. A personal and touching literary experience, as well as a captivating introduction to a multifaceted guy whose legacy—encapsulated in MISS YOU, PAT—is destined to live on, are the results of their collaboration.

This is why the individual is held in high regard. For it is in the individual’s lonely mind and spirit that the conflict between good and evil is waged between good and evil. ‎
