Jan Maddern – Fundraising, Media & Promotions – Self Employed
Over the years, I have volunteered for a variety of charities, from establishing an anti-knife crime organization to fundraising and developing marketing materials in InDesign and through social media platforms. As the first Independent Councillor to be elected to Dacorum Borough Council and the first since 1993 to be elected to Hertfordshire County Council, I am deeply committed to the community rather than to party politics, and I am well-known in the community for getting things done. I am the first Independent Councillor to be elected to Dacorum Borough Council.
After leaving school at the age of 16, this is a significant step for me, but it is a challenge that I am thoroughly embracing!

The Team – Nash Mills Parish Council
You will be met by members of our elected team who are eager to see you. All of the members of Nash Mills Parish Council live or own businesses in the parish and are enthusiastic about the community. The council is made up of Cllr Lisa Bayley, Cllr Michele Berkeley, Cllr Alan Briggs, Cllr Nicola Cobb, Cllr Mandy Lester, Cllr Jan Maddern, Cllr Steve Roberts, and Cllr Emily Tout. For the sake of convenience, each parish councillor has been assigned to a specific region that they represent on the parish council.
Councillor Contacts and Committee List
Lisa Bayley is the Chairman of the Board. Lisa has resided in Nash Mills since 2001, when her family moved there. After being active in assisting locals during the chalk mining issues, she was an easy candidate to continue her excellent work when she was elected to the parish council in 2011. Since 2016, she has served as an excellent Chairperson. Lisa is an expert in event management who takes a methodical approach to her work. Lisa serves as our Chairman and is a member of our personnel committee, among other positions.

- She adds a plethora of experience and knowledge to the team, having served as a borough and county councillor.

Emily Tout is a young woman who lives in the United States.
Emily is a member of the parish council.

Our staff is supported by a CiLCA-qualified clerk who acts as a council official, communicating with citizens, councillors, and representatives from both borough and county councils. She is responsible for facilitating the implementation of projects and the conduct of parish business in Nash Mills. Nikki is responsible for ensuring that the Council as a whole conducts its business in an appropriate manner by offering independent, impartial, and professional advice and assistance. Warden (reporting to the clerk) –David Drew
Our Parish Warden works part-time for the Parish Council, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, and from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursdays. He is a member of the Parish Council. Each day, he will visit a different part of the ward, inspecting it for cleanliness and recording any issues that may need to be reported to Dacorum Borough Council or Herts County Council, such as potholes, fly-tipping, and any damage that may have occurred. Please get in touch with him while he is on his daily rounds or through our clerk.
