Deep Relaxation with Tracee Stanley

Tracee tells us how to prepare our bodies for a Yoga Nidra practice, including posture modifications and props to help the body’s natural support system.

Day 1: Body

It is the goal of this lesson to become more aware of all the many components of the physical body. This exercise, which is referred to as “systematic relaxation,” helps you to develop a new relationship with your physical body and improve your capacity to shift into a state of “rest and digest.”

Day 2: Energy

The focus of this yoga nidra practice is on fostering sensitivity towards the energy body, with the goal of cleaning and regeneration as the ultimate goal.

This week, I’m joined by Tracee Stanley, a Yoga Nidra instructor who has spent the last 25 years studying the Tantra tradition, Sri Vidya, and the Himalayan Masters, among other things.

Her decades of study of Yoga and the Tantra tradition have enabled her to apply the ideas and philosophies to everyday issues, particularly in difficult times such as the current epidemic, so prepare to be enlightened and inspired.

Who Is Tracee Stanley?

Tracee Stanley is a well-known meditation practitioner and lineage educator who specializes in Yoga Nidra, self-inquiry, and meditation techniques. She is a former film executive who has produced more than 35 films and has been involved in the supervision of another 30 productions. However, her passion for yoga and meditation drove her to make a significant career change and pursue a field in which she is more in tune with herself. Beginning in 2001, she went on a path of self-discovery that eventually lead her to study in the lineages of Tantra and the Himalayan Masters, where she was eventually inducted into the Sri Vidya lineage of yoga.

We all have a set of personal limits that we adhere to. However, the term “border” can be deceptive in that it can imply that you are holding yourself apart from others, which is not necessarily the case. However, when it comes to handling relationships, whether intimate or professional, boundaries may also act as the connecting points for healthy standards. As a result, I inquired of Tracee Stanley about how she controls personal boundaries in order to keep peace and harmony in her relationships.

Narrative – Tracee Stanley

Since 1995, I’ve been immersed in the study of Yoga and Tantra. When I first read Patanjali’s version of the Yoga Sutras in 2000, I set out on a search to find lessons that may help me better appreciate the ideals and promises of Yoga as they are highlighted by Patanjali in this literature. There was one sutra in particular that struck a deep chord with me. It was something I could sense in my cells. Sutra 1:36 is the first verse of the first chapter of the Sutra. After that, I was guided to study in the lineage of the Himalayan Masters as well as Tantra.

In my teaching since 2004, I have emphasized yoga nidra (yogic sleep), meditation (including sankalpa), self-empowerment (through purpose), nature as a teacher, and self-inquiry.

This is a door that leads to a state of luminosity, truth, knowledge, and happiness.

Shambhala Publications will publish my first book, which will be released in March of 2021.
