I was suffering from herniated discs in my lower back (L4 and L5). I had pulled my right groin muscle off the bone, had hyperextended knees, had two foot operations, had fractured all of my fingers, had a spinal contusion, and was on the verge of breaking my neck. I’m not sure how many concussions I’ve had in my life. My left shoulder hangs on muscle alone, and all of my tendons have been destroyed, so I was in a lot of discomfort.

Yoga was introduced to me a year and a half later, and the purpose of it was to help me rejuvenate my body.

It is something I will have to do for the rest of my life as a result of the trauma I have experienced with my body throughout the years.

I recently completed the PiYo fitness program developed by Chalene Johnson for Beachbody. Neither Yoga nor Pilates are included in this 60-day at-home fitness regimen, which ranges from low impact to moderate/high intensity. Read on for my in-depth PiYo review to find out what makes this program so special and to witness my own results.

Why I Chose to do PiYo

The PiYO deluxe kit includes the sliders as well. After slipping and falling on a slick deck a couple of years ago, I’d been experiencing occasional back discomfort ever since. A Little About the PiYo Diet

The PiYo diet allows you to consume specific quantities of each food type in accordance with your calorie requirements. In the PiYo nutrition plan, there are five different types of meals to choose from. Depending on your calorie requirements, you will receive a different number of servings per group:

  • Primary vegetables, secondary vegetables and grains, fresh fruit, lean protein, and healthy fats are all good sources of nutrition.

This is intended to assist you in learning to enjoy the flavor of genuine food rather than sweet or processed alternatives. For those who are interested, the answer is that the 21 Day Fix portion control diet may be used in conjunction with the PiYo program rather than following the PiYo diet plan. PiYo DVD Package vs PiYo Deluxe DVD Package

When Chalene Johnson and Beachbody collaborated to create the PiYo training program, they decided to divide it into two packages to make it more affordable. The PiYo DVD Package, which is the first version, has eight exercise DVDs. There are two extra workouts included in the second version, which is a bundle that includes everything from the first version plus two more. What the heck is a PiYo strength slide?

In order to accommodate the needs of both Chalene Johnson and Beachbody, they decided to produce two bundles for the PiYo fitness program. The PiYo DVD Package, which is the first version, has eight workouts. Unlike the first edition, the second version is a comprehensive bundle that includes everything from the first as well as two new workouts. The strength slides are utilized for these additional training (which we will cover below.) This is the PiYo DVD Package that I’m seeing advertised on television.

PiYo Strength or PiYo Deluxe will be the name of the second edition of the program that incorporates the strength slide sessions.

PiYo comes with two 60-day training regimens, each of which lasts 60 minutes. Depending on the package you want to trial, you will need to adhere to a somewhat varied schedule:

  • PiYo Strength Training Routine: If you pick the PiYo Deluxe DVD Package, you should follow these steps. This is the side of the calendar that is colored blue

To demonstrate how the PiYo training plan is structured, I generated the graphic above. PiYo Base workouts are performed according to the pink calendar, which you should follow. The blue calendar is the strength PiYo plan, which includes workouts such as the whole body blast and strong legs slider routines. The red schedule is the flexibility PiYo program. It should be noted that the actual program has an improved training schedule.) The first three weeks of the PiYo schedule are intended to get your body in shape in preparation for the more advanced routines that will be introduced in the final five weeks of the plan.

For those who believe the PiYo workouts are too simple, they may easily skip to the end of week three, where the intensity will be higher.

My 60-Day PiYo Before and After Results

The strength and muscular definition that the PiYo program provided in my core area was the aspect of the program’s outcomes that I found the most impressive. After questioning whether or not I would actually get benefits from just performing yoga postures, push-ups, down dogs, and body resistance workouts, I am thrilled to share my PiYo findings with you. I shed a total of 15.5 inches (including calves and ankles) and 13.2 pounds over the process. However, the most significant improvement is that I can now easily perform 15 push-ups in a succession (before PiYo, I could barely do one!) Not only am I long and slim, but I am also more defined and stronger than I have ever been.

It’s fantastic!

I only participated in the program for eight weeks, during which time I followed the eating plan practically to the letter (I like to have a little fun, too!) This was not a workout where I repeated the routine more than once.
